Christina B. Pennington

Christina B. Pennington is a criminal defense attorney and the managing partner of Bennett Pennington LLC, located in South Orange, New Jersey. Earlier in her career, Christina served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Robert N. Wilentz of the New Jersey Supreme Court, as an associate for Riker, Danzig, et al (Morristown), as a Divisional Vice President of UBS/Paine Webber, Inc. and as an Administrator and Professor at Seton Hall Univ. School of law.

Christina’s current practice focuses upon criminal law. She is experienced in many aspects of criminal defense work and has also served as a Public Defender for over 15 years, in various jurisdictions, including East Orange, Irvington, Jersey City, Orange and Plainfield. She has handled criminal matters involving indictable offenses, petty disorderly and disorderly persons offenses, offenses involving domestic violence, major traffic matters, such as driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to chemical breath tests, and driving without insurance and minor traffic offenses. Christina’s firm also handles other matters that have an impact on individuals such as family law, estate planning, landlord/tenant, real estate, and personal injury. Christina treats each case with diligence and care, handling every aspect from discovery, expert witnesses, motion practice, trial preparation and plea negotiations – she knows her way around a case from start to finish.

A talented attorney, Christina has all the tools required to represent her clients and the compassion to assist those in need. During her time as a student at Seton Hall Law school, she was a member of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal and actively participated in the Student Bar Association and the Black Law Students’ Association. As an educator at Seton Hall Law School, Christina worked with populations such as diverse and first-generation law students to ensure their success. Currently, Christina lives in South Orange with her husband and law partner Scott. She spends her leisure time traveling and with Scott and is an avid reader, art lover and movie buff.
